Frequently Asked Questions
Upload a .docx file to the Word to PDF tool. OCRFire uses Mammoth.js to parse the document, renders it to a canvas, and exports a pixel-faithful PDF - no Word or Office installation required, everything runs entirely in your browser.
Standard text formatting, headings, lists, links, and basic tables are preserved. Complex elements like custom page layouts, tracked changes, or embedded macros may not convert perfectly - these are inherent limitations of browser-based parsing without the full Word rendering engine.
OCRFire supports the modern .docx format (Office Open XML). The legacy .doc binary format (pre-2007) is not supported. Open the file in Word or LibreOffice and save it as .docx first.
